In his opening remarks at the conference, Mr. Pham Van Thanh commended the proactiveness, creativity, and persistent efforts of Petrolimex's staff and employees. He praised them for promoting a widespread emulation movement across all positions, which made a tangible contribution to the Group's positive growth over the past five years.
"Over the last five years, the emulation movement within the Group has developed and spread far and wide—from the corporate office to every petrol station, from border regions to remote islands. It is a positive current of innovation and a powerful internal energy that has helped the Group overcome all challenges and difficulties and has been crucial to successfully achieving our set goals," he said.
He also outlined three key directions to inspire and effectively promote the emulation movement in the next phase.
First, to foster a spirit of innovation and creativity among management and employees by accelerating the adoption of technology, digital transformation, and process improvements to enhance productivity and work quality.
Second, to promote the application of science and technology in line with the green energy transition, effectively leveraging existing infrastructure to develop environmentally friendly products. This will advance the goal of Net-Zero and build the Petrolimex brand as “Reliable - Smart - Friendly - Responsible.”
Third, to cultivate a strong sense of responsibility and dedication. This involves fostering a conscientious work ethic and encouraging a spirit of overcoming challenges and competing to achieve results for the sustainable development of the company and the country.
These directives will serve as the guiding principle for aligning the emulation movement with the Group's strategic objectives during this period of significant transformation.
A legacy of five years of unwavering efforts
The 2020-2025 period was marked by significant and unpredictable volatility in the socio-economic landscape. Against this backdrop, Petrolimex upheld its tradition of unity and agility, maintaining stable business operations and securing its vital role in ensuring national energy security.
The conference featured a documentary chronicling the vibrant, system-wide emulation movement at Petrolimex over the past five years. The film vividly recaptured the spirit of enthusiastic work and highlighted impressive achievements: sales volume reached 15.75 million cubic meters, revenue reached VND286.515 trillion, over 1,000 initiatives and solutions effectively implemented across various fields, and nearly VND1.1 trillion dedicated to community and social programmes.
In recognition of these contributions, the Group and 15 of its subsidiaries were honoured with the Prime Minister's Emulation Flag. Furthermore, two units received the Third-Class Independence Medal, while three units and four individuals were awarded the Labor Medal. Many other collectives and individuals also received prestigious titles and awards from various government levels and sectors.
Representing the Group's Emulation and Commendation Council, Mr. Nguyen Sy Cuong, Deputy General Director, outlined the direction for emulation and commendation work for the 2025-2030 period. Accordingly, emulation and commendation efforts will continue to be strongly reformed towards the comprehensive application of digital transformation. Emphasis will be placed on rewarding the right person, for the right work, at the right time, and promptly honoring exemplary collectives and individuals. This will create a positive spillover effect, fostering a deep and broad emulation movement throughout the entire Group.
This content is also specified through the following consistent guiding principles, aimed at clearly orienting the work of emulation and commendation: (1) To strengthen the leadership role of the Party and promote the effectiveness of mass organizations within the emulation movement; (2) Emulation is a crucial motivation for completing production and business tasks and the development strategy; (3) Emulation must closely follow the political tasks, promoting solidarity, creativity, and the aspiration to contribute; (4) To deploy emulation regularly and ensure rewards are timely, public, fair, and given to the right person for the right work; and (5) To promote the application of digital technology in the work of emulation and commendation.
To realise the established guiding principles and goals, the Group's Deputy General Director emphasised a number of core solutions that the Group will deploy in the coming time. Specifically:
1. Strengthen the direction of leaders at all levels; promote the role of the head in organising and evaluating emulation movements.
2. Promote dissemination, ensure thorough understanding, and strictly implement the guidelines and policies of the Party and the laws of the State regarding emulation and commendation.
3. Improve the operational efficiency of the emulation and commendation system through the entire Group.
4. Consolidate the activities of emulation clusters at all levels; provide training and professional development for staff in charge of emulation and commendation work.
5. Closely link emulation with commendation, using rewards as a driving force to promote emulation.
6. Promote digital transformation to modernise the work of emulation and commendation.
7. Strengthen communications to disseminate good models and effective methods throughout the system.
8. Organise preliminary and final reviews, and provide timely praise and rewards; discover, nurture, and replicate advanced examples and new models.
Innovation, creativity for sustainability
A highlight of the conference was a session featuring direct participation and presentation from outstanding role models. Two notable presentations—by Mr. Nguyen Sy Van, Chairman of Petrolimex Nghe An, and Ms. Dao Thi Nguyen, head of Petrolimex Hanoi’s petrol station No. 84—offered vivid insights into effective models and innovative initiatives across areas such as production and business operations, digital transformation, human resource development, and service quality enhancement.
The discussion session created a warm, inspiring atmosphere centered around three meaningful themes: “Career Journey and Professional Fortitude”, “Innovation, Creativity, and a Sense of Responsibility”, and “The Next Generation and the Aspiration to Contribute”. Real-life stories shared by veteran leaders, key operational personnel, petrol stations’ dynamic staff, and the ambitious younger generation vividly showcased the spirit of continuous innovation, creativity, and dedication among employees across all roles. The session helped spread a positive spirit and conveyed heartfelt messages to the youth, who will carry forward the mission of building and developing the corporation in the new phase.
Honouring outstanding role models
The conference solemnly presented the Government Emulation Flag, Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, and many other prestigious awards to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements. The Government Emulation Flag was awarded to Petrolimex Tien Giang, while Prime Minister’s Certificates of Merit were presented to seven outstanding collectives and seven outstanding individuals—a well-deserved recognition of their notable contributions to the development of the corporation and service to the country.
On the occasion, the Group’s leaders awarded Certificates of Merit from the Petrolimex chairman to 43 collectives and 42 individuals. Meanwhile, trade union leaders also presented Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam National Union of Workers in Industry and Trade to nine grassroots trade unions and 27 trade union officials. These honours serve as a strong source of encouragement for employees and workers to continue upholding the spirit of patriotic emulation.
